Community Conversation inspired by Hadestown: A conversation around climate justice and the arts, presented in partnership with Hult Center for the Performing Arts.
Join us on Thursday, November 14th at 6pm for a Community Conversation prior to the Broadway production of Hadestown. This conversation will center around climate justice, how we can use the arts to support change, and ways we can participate in our community. This will begin with a panel conversation with a Climate Policy Analyst, Eco Muralist, Kalapuya High School student, Hadestown Music Producer and Orchestrator, and Beyond Toxics West Eugene Community Organizer.
Grammy and Tony Award Winning musical, Hadestown, intertwines two mythic tales — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and Queen Persephone — as it invites you on an unforgettable journey to the underworld and back. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, singers and dancers, Hadestown asks audiences to imagine how the world could be. Just as Orpheus' voice has the power to bring the world back in sync in Hadestown, we have the power to help demand and build a sustainable future. Hadestown and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), a leading environmental organization, are coming together to raise awareness, bring a greater sense of urgency, and push for action on the issue of climate change.
We hope you can join us in conversation!Community Conversation inspired by Hadestown showing at: November 14, 6:00 pm
